Write one story, not five applications

Most people applying for several scholarships write several letters and try to make each one sound tailored. Panels read hundreds of these and the seams show.

The stronger approach is to write one clear story first: why this field, why Germany, why now, and what you will do with it. Get that honest and specific. Then each application becomes a matter of trimming and re-pointing the same story at that funder's priorities, not inventing a new motivation.

It is less work and it reads as a person rather than a form. The letter that got one client their funding was ninety percent the same across three applications. The ten percent that changed was the part that showed they had read what each scholarship actually cared about.
