What happens to your data on this site, in plain language. The short version: almost nothing.
The short version
This site has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, and no third-party cookies. I do not know who visits it. The only time you give me personal data is when you choose to write to me.

Hosting and server logs
This website is a set of static files served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, the provider processes technical data needed to deliver the page to you, which can include your IP address, the time of the request, and the page requested. This happens on a legitimate-interest basis under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, because a website cannot be delivered without it. I do not receive, combine, or analyse these logs for any purpose of my own.
The contact form
If you use the form on the contact page, the name, email address, telephone number if you supply one, and message you enter are transmitted to me by email through a form-delivery provider. I use that data for one purpose: to reply to you and, if we go on to work together, to carry out that work. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, performance of a contract or steps taken before one, and otherwise your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
I keep inquiry messages for as long as the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back, then delete them. Where tax or commercial law requires records of an actual engagement to be kept longer, that obligation takes precedence.
You are never required to use the form. Writing to hello@yourpersonabroad.com reaches me the same way.
Fonts and external resources
The typefaces on this site are served from this site's own domain. No request is made to Google Fonts or any other third-party font service, so no data about you leaves this site in order to render the page.
Cookies and local storage
This site sets no cookies of its own. See the cookie notice.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask me for access to the personal data I hold about you, correction of it, deletion of it, restriction of its processing, and a copy of it in a portable form. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, and you may withdraw consent at any time, which does not affect processing that already took place lawfully. Write to me and I will deal with it.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In Germany that is the data protection authority of the federal state where the controller is established.
